About Peak Overland
Nothing Epic Was Ever Said About The Weekend Spent On The CouchWelcome to Peak Overland
Where passion meets the open road
Peak Overland was born from a simple belief: the best way to experience the West is to get off the beaten path. Our family-run business began during the pandemic, but its roots run much deeper.
Growing up, my dad nurtured a deep curiosity in me for how things worked. He was a military pilot who encouraged me to get hands-on — tuning cars, fixing things around the house, and eventually rebuilding an old Honda motorcycle we found together. That bike became my ticket to adventure, leading me down backcountry trails in the North Georgia mountains in search of forgotten gold mines. I learned to drive in Silverton behind the wheel of a stick-shift CJ, and later deepened my connection to the Rockies through formative experiences with Outward Bound and NOLS. Though my professional career is in technology, those early experiences — combining mechanical know-how, problem-solving, and a love of exploring — laid the foundation for the business vision. Today, our kids share in these adventures, learning the same skills and building the same appreciation for the land.
We’re proud of the global community we’ve built around meaningful, self-guided travel — and the personal connections forged along the way have been among the most rewarding parts of the journey. Whether you’re planning your first backcountry trip or returning for another epic escape, welcome to Peak Overland — the realization of a vision, and your gateway to the wild.

What is Overlanding?
Overlanding is more than just backcountry camping — it’s a way of exploring the world with self-reliance, curiosity, and a willingness to disconnect from the modern grind. It’s about driving to remote places, setting up camp under the stars, and embracing the journey as much as the destination. If you’re new to the idea, this guide from Motortrend is a great place to start.
