This is the second year in a row that we have rented from Peak Overland in Denver. Both times it has been a fantastic experience. First year we had the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, a fantastic off-road vehicle. Pretty much included everything we needed to go off-road overland camping. We were able to go to Mexican Hat, Moab, Canyonlands in Utah as well as Wyoming without any issues. The roof top tent, electric fridge as well as cooking gear and utensils were all supplied. The jeep came with front and rear locking differentials and sway bar disconnects which made the recreational trails at Moab as well as the Back Country Discovery routes all doable.
This year we rented the Ford Bronco Wildtrack with the Sasquatch package. Also a capable vehicle for our off-road trips through Engineering Pass, Ophir Pass, Georgia Pass. Also included everything that we needed to go camping including compressed air tank so that we could air up when it was time to get back on the highways.
Both times we did not have any issues mechanically with any of the vehicles. Both are great off-road vehicles. Working with Tim has been awesome, he has been extremely responsive to every one of my email and text inquiries or comments. His knowledge of the vehicles has also been helpful for any questions or issues while on the road. Of the two vehicles, I definitely prefer the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I think Jeep has been doing it this for so long that they have really a polished product when it comes to off-roading. If you choose to go overland camping or just off-roading, I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the two vehicles here at Peak Overland.
When I come back through again next time, this will definitely be where I rent again. Pick up was pretty painless from a paid indoor parking location near Denver International airport. There is a shuttle back and forth to the airport. Drop off was painless as well too.
My experience with Tim and his excellent knowledge base and customer service was so great that I would not consider renting from anyone else in the Denver area.
We rented the Bronco Wildtrak. Great value for an overlanding package. The Bronco’s performance was exceptional both on and off road. We liked the function and design of the iKamper rooftop tent so well that we are considering one for ourselves. The refrigerator also performed well keeping food and beverages cold. Tim from Peak Overland was very helpful and informative about all aspects of the rental package and the overlanding experience. The price of the rental package was very competitive with other companies. I would highly recommend Peak Overland for your overland or basic 4×4 adventure.
PEAK OVERLAND might possibly be the best kept secret in Colorado! Couldn’t ask for a better way to explore Colorado for a week on our vacation. Grade A from customer service to the rental itself. Definitely will be a repeat customer!
Update: Third year in a row renting from PEAK OVERLAND and just as impressed now as the first year. Again, I must say… will definitely be a repeat customer again and again.
The entire Peak Overland team went above and beyond to make sure our family got the most out of our Colorado adventure. From instructions and communication prior to our trip to seamless airport pickup and drop-off we felt very comfortable and confident as first-time overland travelers. The Jeep was a joy to drive and the tent setup time was under 3 minutes. Even our 9-year-old son could help set it up! Tim checked in with us during our travels to make sure everything was working as it should. We loved having a refrigerator, camp stove and utensils included in the rental. This allowed us to extend our budget by saving on meals each day. We cannot recommend Tim and his team enough; we are definitely planning a return trip for our family soon!
